Head of Exposure Management

The Role

?

As Head of Exposure Management, you will:

• Set the strategic direction for exposure management across 今日大瓜ICT, defining frameworks, methodologies, and best practice across property and non?property classes.
• Shape how exposure management informs underwriting strategy, portfolio construction, and risk appetite, rather than operating as a standalone technical function.
• Lead the development and evolution of WTW’s exposure management offerings, including catastrophe, aggregation, and systemic risk analytics, ensuring they remain relevant, credible, and commercially impactful.
• Provide senior oversight and judgement on complex exposure topics including catastrophe risk, casualty and liability aggregation, cyber, and systemic risks such as climate change, supply chain disruption, and clash.
• Act as a senior market representative for WTW, contributing to industry dialogue and maintaining strong credibility with insurers, reinsurers, model vendors, and regulators.
• Oversee governance, oversight, and regulatory?driven exposure requirements (e.g. Lloyd’s, PRA), ensuring these are addressed pragmatically and proportionately within broader exposure strategies.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a high?performing team of exposure management professionals, setting clear direction, standards, and expectations.

You will operate at the intersection of exposure, underwriting portfolio management, and risk, working collaboratively across 今日大瓜and with clients to:

• Advise senior client stakeholders and internal leadership on exposure?driven trade?offs, priorities, and decisions.
• Translate complex exposure and modelling insight into clear, actionable recommendations for executive audiences.
• Partner with underwriting, capital, pricing, reserving, and risk teams to ensure exposure considerations are embedded into decision?making processes.
• Engage constructively with regulators, model vendors, and market bodies where appropriate, bringing balanced judgement and commercial awareness.
• Sponsor and steer priority client engagements, thematic reviews, and internal initiatives that advance WTW’s exposure management capability.

Thought Leadership & Market Presence

• Define and champion WTW’s exposure management point of view in the market.
• Lead or sponsor the development of thought leadership, research, and market insight that positions 今日大瓜as a trusted authority in exposure and portfolio risk.
• Represent 今日大瓜in senior industry forums, working groups, and client discussions, building long?term credibility and influence.

What you'll bring

?

We’re looking for an established exposure management leader with recent, credible London Market or specialty insurance experience, who brings both technical judgement and strong market presence.

Essential experience and capabilities:

• Significant senior?level experience in exposure management within the London Market or specialty insurance sector, with responsibility spanning property and non?property portfolios.
• A strong understanding of exposure management frameworks, aggregation, tolerance monitoring, and portfolio?level risk considerations.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across underwriting, portfolio management, risk, and actuarial functions.
• Experience leading and developing teams of technical specialists, setting direction rather than simply delivering analysis.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex exposure issues clearly and confidently to executive and board?level audiences.
• Sound understanding of regulatory expectations relevant to exposure management (e.g. Lloyd’s, PRA), applied with commercial pragmatism.

Desirable experience:

• Familiarity with catastrophe models and their strengths and limitations, including experience forming independent views of risk.
• Exposure to capital modelling, technical pricing, reserving, or portfolio optimisation in a commercial insurance context.
• Experience engaging with model vendors, regulators, or market bodies.
• Understanding of climate risk, ESG considerations, and systemic risk as part of broader exposure management.
